17-year-old Rector girl killed after vehicle hit by train
RECTOR, Ark. - A 17 year-old Rector girl was killed on Wednesday morning when the 1999 Pontiac she was driving collided with a train. The accident occurred at 8:15 a.m., on County Road 481 in Clay County. Arkansas State Police has identified the girl as Kayley Dare Bell and has said that she was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. According to official reports, the accident occurred when Bell's vehicle was traveling north on County Road 481 and crossed the tracks in front of the Union Pacific train. The train reportedly clipped the rear of Bell's vehicle, causing her to eject. Upon arrival of the coroner and examination, Bell was pronounced dead at the scene. Bell's body was taken to Hoggard Funeral Home in Piggott, Ark., and next of kin was notified. Investigating officer was Arkansas State Highway Patrol Trooper Terry R. Burdin.
