Cassville man arrested at Hayti on drug charges
HAYTI, Mo. -- A commercial vehicle driver was arrested outside a local gas station following his suspicious behavior inside the store. Chief Paul Sheckell said in a police report on Friday that formal charges have been filed against Tony G. Dunfee, 47, of Cassville, Mo., for possession of a controlled substance which carries a bond amount of $25,000, stemming from an arrest at the Pilot Travel Center. Sheckell explained that an investigation on Dunfee began after officers observed him inside the gas station around 2:30 a.m., "appearing to be under the influence of a controlled substance." Upon leaving the business, officers conducted a traffic stop on Dunfee's commercial vehicle for an illegal license plate light. During the stop, Dunfee provided permission for officers to search him, and a clear plastic bag in his front pant pocket tested positive for methamphetamine. Dunfee was arrested and transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center as a result of the incident
